I grew up in Emmett, Idaho - a little town thirty miles from Boise. I lived in one house until I was 19 years old, got married, and moved to Nampa, Idaho to begin my college education at what is now called Northwest Nazarene University. My wife, Carrie, worked on campus in a couple of different jobs; first in the business office, and then in the college bookstore. During my time at college, I worked several odd jobs and as a youth pastor in Boise, Kuna, and Caldwell. It took me longer than most students to finish college partially because our first two children, Angie and Josh, were born during this time. After six years, I graduated with a B.A. in Religion and began my full time work in the ministry.
My first full time position was as an associate pastor at Caldwell Canyon Hill Church of the Nazarene. I served there as Youth Pastor for a couple of years and then went to Parma Church of the Nazarene and held the position of Senior Pastor there for seven and a half years. During these years, our other two children (Kara and Abram) were born. From Parma, we came west to Newberg and have lived here ever since. The future looks bright and I eagerly anticipate many more years of ministering to the Newberg community.
